How Kindlewood Films collects, uses, and protects your information.
This Privacy Policy explains how Kindlewood Films ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit kindlewoodfilms.com or reach out to us about your wedding or event. By using our site or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
Kindlewood Films is a wedding and event videography studio based in San Francisco, California. For any privacy question, or to make a request about your information, contact us at hello@kindlewoodfilms.com, call (415) 209-5817, or write to 3202 Buchanan Street, San Francisco, CA 94123.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out our contact form or email us, we collect the details you choose to share: your names, email address, wedding or event date, venue or location, how you heard about us, and anything you write in your message. If you become a client, we may collect further details needed to plan and deliver your film.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the site, we and our analytics providers may collect standard technical information such as your device and browser type, general location inferred from your IP address, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and how you move through the site. Most of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in the Cookie Policy below, and only after you accept.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for sensitive information such as government IDs or payment card numbers through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. We do not sell your information.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry, check your date, and send you collection details and sample films.
- To plan, coordinate, and deliver videography services if you book with us.
- To understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it.
- To keep the site secure and working correctly.
- To meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.
Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. You control the optional ones in our cookie banner.
- Strictly necessary. Remember your cookie choice and keep the site working. Always on.
- Analytics. Which pages and films are popular, and how visitors reach us. Google Analytics 4 and PostHog (_ga, ph_<id>_posthog).
- Session recording. Records and replays on-page activity — clicks, scrolling, pages viewed — so we can improve layout and flow. Hotjar and PostHog (_hjSession). Form fields are masked, so what you type is not captured.
- Performance. Vercel Speed Insights measures page load speed. No cookies, no identifiers, no consent needed.
Your choices. Analytics and Session recording stay off until you turn them on, and you can allow one without the other. Change your mind any time with in the footer, or block cookies in your browser. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
Providers: Google (policies.google.com/privacy), Hotjar (hotjar.com), PostHog (posthog.com/privacy), Vercel (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy).
How we share information
We share information only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers who host the site, handle contact-form submissions and email, and provide analytics (Vercel, Resend, Google, Hotjar, and PostHog). They may process information only on our behalf.
- Legal and safety reasons, if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety and that of others.
- Business transfers, if the studio is ever sold or reorganized, in which case your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep your information
We keep inquiry details for as long as needed to respond and, if you book, for the life of the project plus a reasonable period for our records and legal obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of our analytics tools. You can ask us to delete your information as described below.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No website or transmission is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your details safe.
